Ronald Völker won the ETS championship two years in a row with the MTC-2 platform, and it’s now time to release the next generation MTC-2R with several updates and improvements.     Portal axles not only offer a greater distance from the differential housing to the ground than conventional axles, they also have another positive feature. With conventional crawlers, the torque applies so much force that the vehicle jumps over the obstacle. The design of the portal axles reduces the gear ratio at the wheels and virtually eliminates the torque surges of the drive. The overall reduction ratio of the axle drive is more than twice that of non-portal designs to insure a smooth run.

    Lock and unlock the front and rear differential independently to get the maximum performance on the track - all controlled remotely from your transmitter and 2x 0,9kg mini servos. Leave the differential unlocked for a smooth handling at high speed. On technical trails you can lock the front differential, the rear differential or even both to handle extreme terrain.

    The TYPHON 4X4 MEGA RTR is DESIGNED FAST, DESIGNED TOUGH - built for exciting bashing speeds and extreme, all-terrain durability. New features that enhance its unstoppable performance include a stronger chassis and retained hinge pin plates; steering with more clearance for stones; a castellated slipper pad and sliding gear mesh; and rubber-shielded bearings throughout.

    It also has the ingenious modular design perfected by ARRMA® engineers for easy component access and maintenance. The power module, with improved dirt management, consists of a MEGA 550 motor for rock-jumping speed, plus motor plate, slipper clutch assembly and gear cover. The power module can be detached from the chassis as a complete unit by removing just one screw. With the power module removed, the slipper clutch can be reached easily for adjustments by taking out three screws that attach the gear cover. The gear ratio can be finely tuned as the power module now uses a sliding motor mesh design.

    A two-piece molding screwed to the Speed Buggy's chassis serves as its electronics module, containing a waterproof receiver box, servo mount and ESC tray. The SLR300 receiver mounts inside the receiver box for protection from dirt and moisture. The ultra-compact ESC is screwed to the top of the module, allowing quick access to the on/off switch, while the servo mounts to the side. All three components can be removed together, quickly and easily.

    The differential module houses each differential unit in an innovative yoke design. Only eight screws need to be removed to release the front and rear yokes. The power module can then be detached, allowing you to pivot the gearbox cases for differential access. The TYPHON 4X4 MEGA RTR comes brushless-ready with 37T 1.35mod diffs with silicone O-rings. The large gears can withstand huge torque, and internal metal gears have been chosen for reliability during extreme bashing.

    Its full-time 4WD transmission uses strong front, rear, and centerline telescopic driveshafts that can't be lost during heavy impacts, unlike dogbones. A simple, dependable, responsive steering assembly complements the ultra-reliable drive system and features a servo horn with built-in servo saver.

    The self-bleeding, oil-filled shocks, now with silicone O-rings, use a tried and tested, coil-over design for simple maintenance and amazing handling. Their innovative rod-end has a moulded-in spring perch for extra toughness. High chassis sides and a close-fitting buggy body limit the amount of dirt and debris that can get into the chassis tub. Front and rear bumpers offer defence against impacts.

    Tough, multi-spoke wheels with vented dBoots® 2-HO tyres give the 1/8 scale TYPHON 4X4 MEGA RTR Speed Buggy effective traction for bashing on almost any terrain. Multiple battery types can be used with the hook-and-loop mounting, from 6-cell NiMH packs to a 2S block pack. This version comes with a Dynamite® 3300 mAh 8.4V 7-cell Speedpack® 2 Hump NiMH battery that provides 35% more run time compared to the 2400mAh pack of its predecessor.

    The new 4GRS system is Futaba’s first stick Car/Boat set for some time, but is well worth 
    the wait, being feature packed and optimised for the serious racer. As the name 
    suggests the system offers 4 functions, and of course includes Futaba’s renowned 
    telemetry system, which is a huge benefit for practice and whilst racing, (where allowed). 
    Both S-FHSS and T-FHSS transmission modes are included, and response 
    speed is a staggering 4.4ms, giving instantaneous response to the controls. Full 
    specifications and a full list of features are available online. 

    Telemetry system 
    The T4GRS transmitter has adopted the newly developed bidirectional 
    communication system "T-FHSS" 

    2.4GHzSS (Spread Spectrum) radio communication system 
    Frequency channel setting is unnecessary: Channel shifting takes place within the 2.4GHz 
    band automatically. This system minimizes the interference from other 2.4GHz systems. 

    Model memory for 40 models 
    Model names can use up to 10 letters, numbers, and symbols, so that logical names may be 
    used. A model memory with different setups can be created by using the model copy function. 

    Menu Selection 
    The setup screens are called from menu screens. The menu screen can be selected from among 
    2 levels (LEVEL1/LEVEL2). 

    Brake mixing for large cars (BRAKE) 
    Brake mixing of the front and rear sticks of 1/5GP and other large cars can be adjusted 
    independently. 

    4WS mixing for crawlers and other 4WS type (4WS) 
    This function can be used with crawlers and other 4WS type vehicles. 

    Dual ESCs mixing for crawlers cars (DUAL ESC) 
    ESC at the front and rear are controlled independently. 

    Gyro mixing (GYRO MIX) 
    The sensitivity of Futaba car rate gyros can be adjusted from the T4GRS. 

    CPS-1 mixing (CPS MIX) 
    LED lighting and flashing control using our CPS-1 channel power switch can be 
    matched to steering and throttle operation by switch only. 
    Anti-skid braking system (TH A.B.S) 
    This function applies the brakes so that the tires of gasoline engine cars, etc. do not 
    lose their grip on the road even when braking at corners. 

    Throttle acceleration (ACCEL) 
    Gasoline engine cars have a time lag before the clutch and brakes become effective. 
    The throttle acceleration function reduces this time lag. 

    Throttle speed (SPEED) 
    Sudden stick operation on a slippery road surface will only cause the tires to spin 
    and the model to not accelerate smoothly. By setting the throttle speed function, 
    operation can be performed smoothly and easily. It also suppresses battery consumption. 

    Steering speed (SPEED) 
    When you sense that the steering servo is too fast, etc., the servo operating speed 
    (direction that suppresses the maximum speed) can be adjusted. 

    Racing timer (TIMER) 
    The lap timer can record 100 lap times and total time. The timer can also be started 
    automatically by stick operation. The race time and audible alarm can be set. 
    Re-/fueling time are indicated by an audible alarm. An up timer is also provided. 

    Digital trim 
    The current trim position is displayed on the LCD screen. The operating amount of 1 
    step can also be adjusted. 
    Trim operation has no effect on the maximum travel of the steering and throttle servos. 

    Function select switch / dial function (TRIM DIAL) 
    This function assigns functions to 2 switches and dials (digital trim, digital dial). The 
    step amount and operating direction can also be adjusted. Trim positioning at each 
    model call isunnecessary because all the dials are digital. 

    ESC-Link function (MC-LINK) 
    This is a dedicated function which allows setting of the contents of the Link software 
    which makes possible Futaba speed controller (ESC), MC950CR, MC850C, MC851C, 
    MC602C, MC402CR, etc. variable frequency and other data changes by T4GRS. 

    Tension adjustment function 
    The tension of the steering stick & throttle stick springs can be adjusted from the inside. 

    Adjustable Throttle Stick Travel (Mechanical ATL Adjustment) 
    Make this adjustment when you want to decrease the total travel of the forward 
    (up) side or brake (down) side of the throttle stick. 

    Display switch 
    Display switch allows function setup without transmitting.

    Built-in polarity protection

    One danger that all electrical systems face is a reversed polarity from the power source. This can be caused by a short circuit, or usually, incidentally reversing the terminals. The XR10 Justock is integrated using MOSFET. If the battery terminals are connected in reverse, the MOSFET will be reverse-biased and will not allow current to flow through the system.

    Built-in capacitor module

    The built-in capacitor module eliminates the need for external capacitors and unwanted space.

    RPM speed limit function

    The ESC is able to support up to 6 different speed (RPM) selections to meet the needs and demands of various competitions in the world. It can be programmed through using the latest OTA Bluetooth module or the traditional 3in1 program box.

    Zero timing competition design

    The internal timing of the ESC is fixed at 0 degrees and cannot be adjusted. It is specifically built for zero timing races around the world.

    Built-in BEC supporting high-voltage steering gear

    The ESC has a built-in BEC which can support a maximum output current of up to 8A and the output voltage at either 6V or 7.4V. This will ensure constant power supplied to today’s high-torque servos in the market.

    User-friendly and convenient for set-up

    The ease of having a dedicated programming port eliminates the trouble of plugging and unplugging the cable to the receiver. In addition, the interface can power additional fans to further dissipate heat. The user-friendly interface allows for easy and convenient setup by simply connecting the 3in1 LCD programming box or OTA Bluetooth module to the dedicated programming port.

    SSL Function (Sanwa Synchronised Link) System From using both of "RX-472" and "Super Vortex Zero", Drivers operate "Code AUX Function" which is included on M12 & EXZES-Z and can adjust setting of equipment directly and quickly from Radios. 
    In case of using SSL System, Drivers don't need to use Setting Card or PC. And also, Telemetry data can be sent to Radios without using any Sensors. 

    In case of using MT-4 with both of "RX-472" and "Super Vortex Zero", SSL Function is not responded, but Telemetry data can be sent to Radios without using any Sensors.
